DRIVING home after a night out in Toowoomba proved a mistake for two young men who each blew more than three times the legal limit in separate incidents.

Tristan Bradley Brown had been seen by CitySafe camera operators to be with two others suspected of being drunk in the Neil St car park about 2.30am, November 28, Toowoomba Magistrates Court was told.

Police arrived as Brown was driving a black Ford Focus out over the car park and pulled him up.

Asked if he had much to drink, he said “I don’t know, a fair bit”, police prosecutor Tim Hutton said.

He blew a breath/alcohol reading of 0.158 and police checks found his licence was subject to suspensions.

Sergeant Hutton said Brown had returned previous readings of 0.057 in August 2019 and 0.126 in February last year.

Acting Magistrate Lisa O’Neill placed Brown on 12 months probation and disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driver’s licence for 12 months.

* ANDREW Cameron Ryan had been out drinking with workmates when he felt sick and decided to drive home about 12.30am, November 27.

He was pulled over by police on Bridge St, Newtown.

Telling police he had about four schooners and two Jager shots, he blew a breath/alcohol reading of 0.152, Sergeant Hutton told the court.

The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of liquor.

Acting Magistrate Lisa O’Neill fined Ryan $750 and disqualified him from driving for six months with no conviction recorded.
