Darling Heights man blows .176 on drive around the block to ‘clear his head’

A DARLING Heights man who drove around the block to “clear his head” ultimately blew a breath/alcohol reading more than three times the legal limit and now he’s off the road altogether.
Police called to a disturbance at a Darling Heights home had found Timothy Charles Brose in the lounge room, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.
He told police he had just been for a drive and pulled into the driveway just before them, police prosecutor Narelle Lowe said.
He told police he had been under stress due to a recent family loss and when he and his partner argued he had driven around the block to clear his head, Senior Constable Lowe said.
The 40-year-old blew a breath/alcohol reading of 0.176, she said.
The self-represented Brose pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of liquor.
Magistrate Kay Ryan fined him $1100 and disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driver’s licence for the mandatory minimum period of six months.
The conviction was not recorded.
