Two boys, aged 15 and 16, to face Toowoomba Childrens Court for alleged weekend car theft

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been charged in connection to an alleged car theft with the pair leading police on a foot pursuit before they were apprehended.

TWO boys have been refused police bail to face Toowoomba Childrens Court after they were charged with multiple offences in connection to an alleged stolen vehicle over the weekend.

In the early hours of Saturday morning a Toyota HiLux ute was allegedly stolen from a Campbell Street, Newtown home.

Police attended Hamwood Street about 10.10am on Saturday after receiving reports of the vehicle in the area.

The ute was found and after a short foot pursuit two boys, aged 15 and 16, were taken into custody.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with one count each of burglary, receiving tainted property and driving without a licence.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used.

They have been held in custody to appear in Toowoomba Childrens Court on Monday.
