Confusion reigned with legal representation in the case of a 36-year-old Goondiwindi woman charged with murder.

Tina Kathleen Hazard has been charged with murder arising from the death of 25-year-old Thor Morgan who was allegedly shot while driving on Ruthven St north in the early hours of March 15, 2022.

Mr Morgan, who was shot in the head, died in a Brisbane hospital two months later from complications relating to his injuries.

Police have charged Ms Hazard and co-accused Mark Freund, 25, with murder and associated charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle arising from the alleged shooting.

At the last mention of Ms Hazard’s case before Toowoomba Magistrates Court in October, the court was told her legal representatives had received all of the police brief of evidence and it was envisaged the case could move forward.

However, when her case was mentioned before the same court on Friday, November 24, the court was advised that Toowoomba legal firm MacDonald Law now had the file as a result of a referral from Legal Aid Queensland.

It was then advised that MacDonald Law had a conflict of interest in the case and couldn’t represent Ms Hazard and so the file was returned to Legal Aid Queensland for another firm to be appointed to represent Ms Hazard.

Magistrate Kay Ryan therefore remanded Ms Hazard in custody and adjourned the case for mention back in the same court on December 8.
