A Toowoomba man who pleaded guilty to three separate drug-driving offences has been ordered off the roads for four years and three months.

Alan James Manteit had tested positive for methylamphetamine while on a learner’s permit when pulled over by police on Main St, Meringandan, on February 16, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.

The 40-year-old then tested positive for meth while driving on Gowrie-Glencoe Rd, Glencoe, on April 20, after which his licence was suspended.

He was then pulled over and tested positive for meth on Jellicoe St, Toowoomba, on June 5, and found to be driving while suspended which brought a two year disqualification, police prosecutor Senior Constable Julia Wheaton told the court.

Manteit’s solicitor Brad Skuse said though his client had 12 pages of criminal history he had no previous drug driving convictions.

Magistrate Kay Ryan placed Manteit on 18 months probation to include random drug testing and disqualified him from driving for a total four years and three months.
