Thor Morgan – the man shot in the head in Ruthven Street on March 15 – was listed for sentencing in the Toowoomba Supreme Court today on a serious drug charge.

Instead the 24-year-old Toowoomba man remains in a coma in the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s intensive care ward with a bullet in his brain.

Barrister Frank Martin was due to represent Mr Morgan on charge of possession of schedule one drug above two grams.

He told the court his client was shot three times on March 15 and that one of the bullets remained “in place”.

Mr Martin asked the court for an adjournment.

Police allege the shooters tracked Mr Morgan from his girlfriend’s house in Coonan Street, Harlaxton about 2am on March 15.

They ambushed Mr Morgan, firing several shots at the car near the intersection of Kate Street and Ruthven Street, one of which hit Mr Morgan in the head.

Police will allege the shooters were in a white Ford Ranger dual cab utility at the time and that this vehicle was later torched in Felton.

The shooters proceeded to steal a Nissan Patrol utility from a nearby property, drive it back to Toowoomba and dump it at the intersection of Mahogany Street and Poinciana Street sometime in the afternoon of March 16.

Anyone with information about the offenders is urged to come forward.
