One of two teenagers accused of stealing a black Jaguar from Chinchilla and driving it to Toowoomba where it was stopped by police using stingers has been remanded in custody.

The 16-year-old was not required to appear in Toowoomba Children’s Court on Thursday when his charges were mentioned.

He and a 15-year-old boy are accused of breaking into a home in Chinchilla in the early hours of April 18 while the house occupants slept and stealing a handbag, cash and car keys and then driving the Jaguar to Toowoomba later that same day.

The 16-year-old has not as yet been required to enter pleas to unlawfully using motor vehicles, stealing, burglary and unlicensed driving.

Acting Magistrate Roger Stark remanded him in custody to appear back in the same court on May 20.

The 15-year-old, who is facing similar charges, is expected to front the Toowoomba Children’s Court later this month.
