Police are appealing for a key witness to come forward after a woman’s car keys were stolen at knifepoint.
Initial investigations indicate that about 3pm on Sunday, April 16, in Rockville a woman gained access to a Kettle St address and confronted a resident making demands for keys to a Nissan Navara while armed with a knife.
The victim gave the woman the keys, and was not physically harmed.
While attempting to drive the vehicle from the residence a nearby witness intervened, forcing the woman to flee on foot towards Makepeace St.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who many have witnessed the incident, or may have either dashcam or CCTV footage of the area at the time, are asked to come forward.
Police are also asking the driver of a light blue Toyota Corolla hatchback, who may have interacted with the woman on Makepeace St, to come forward as a witness.
The would-be robber is described as caucasian in appearance, approximately 20 to 25 years of age, with a slim build and red hair. She was also seen wearing a black cropped top, a black skirt and white shoes.
