An investigation is underway to determine the cause of a blaze that broke out at popular family-owned Toowoomba business, Jim’s Jerky.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of the fire at Charlton which ripped through the businesses’ main factory at 4.10pm on Tuesday, April 4.

As the fire did not affect the store, Jim’s Jerky was up and running the following morning.

It is believed several gas cylinders ignited and spread the fire to the Warrego Highway facility.

The business took to social media to thank fire crews and outline its next steps.

“We want to thank the emergency services who did an absolutely incredible job keeping everyone safe,” they said.

“We are lucky enough to have fire crews based just across the road at Charlton and within minutes they had dozens of personnel here and managed to contain the blaze to just one part of the facility.”

They said the business would be back up and running “before you know it”.

“The support we have received from the community has been absolutely amazing and we want to reassure our customers Jim’s will be back up and running before you know it,” they said.

“We love our team, our diehard jerkaholics and the amazing community we have around us. But I think we can all agree chargrilled jerky isn’t for us.”

No one was injured during the blaze.
