Police swarm on Nanango after reports of man wandering with firearm
Police were called in from across the district after they received reports of a man wandering with a rifle in hand in a country town.

Nanango police have taken a man into custody after reports he was brandishing a rifle in public shortly after 2.30pm on Friday.
South Burnett Patrol Group Inspector Scott Stahlhut said back up was called in from Kingaroy before officers located the man on the township’s outskirts.
“There was a coded response to an incident where it was reported that a person had a firearm,” he said.
“The person was quickly located and taken into custody.
“He is now assisting us with our inquiries.”
It is understood the man was unarmed when police took him into custody.
“Further investigations are being undertaken to assess the veracity of allegations of the man possessing a firearm,” Insp Stahlhut said.
