Two police vehicles are in for repairs after they were rammed during the arrest of an alleged serial thief.
Police had been tracking the man for several days after a warrant was issued for his arrest when he allegedly failed to front court.
They were called to Goombungee Road after receiving reports initially of a two-vehicle traffic crash, about 2.30pm on Sunday.
Police allege that they saw a man behaving suspiciously near a 2012 red Holden Barina which was parked on the side of the road.
The man ran from this vehicle back to a stolen 2015 Mercedes Benz A250 and attempted to drive off, ramming two police vehicles before he was arrested.
The Mercedes was stolen from a Kearney’s Spring address on May 30.
Investigations reveal that there was no traffic crash, and the man had allegedly forced entry to the Barina by smashing the rear passenger side window before stealing several items including a wallet and clothing.
The man is charged with 22 offences, including four unlawful entry offences, four counts of stealing and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Police will further allege the man was in possession of a knife and drugs.
He was remanded in custody overnight to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Monday.
