Two people have been arrested in Toowoomba in relation to the theft of a car in Chinchilla overnight.
The car, believed to be an up-market SUV, was reported stolen on Saturday about 9am.
It is understood the car was stolen about 2am from a property on Heeney Street.
It was spotted by police about an hour later in Toowoomba’s western suburbs, and was tracked using the owner’s phone GPS, which was still in the car.
Police deployed stingers at Kingsthorpe that helped immobilise the car, and the occupants eventually abandoned it and escaped on foot.
They were arrested about noon.
