Man in his 80s airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight after fall from vehicle

The man was reportedly throwing bales of hay from a trailer when he fell off the back of the vehicle.

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter crew has flown a man to hospital after he was injured in a farming incident in the Lockyer Valley.

The man, aged in his 80s, was reportedly throwing bales of hay from a trailer when he fell off the back of the vehicle.

It is believed the man hit his head on the concrete when he fell, suffering serious head injuries.

The rescue chopper was called to the private property, just before 9:30am Saturday.

The chopper pilot landed the aircraft at the scene where the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctor and Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic met with local QAS paramedics to treat the patient.

He was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
