The second of four young men who allegedly led police on a wild two-day chase across the Darling Downs in a stolen vehicle is to be sentenced for his role in the incidents.

Lachlan Connor Cubby, 20, has been held in custody since his arrest in February and was not required to be before Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Wednesday when his case was mentioned.

His solicitor Brad Skuse, of Skuse Graham Lawyers, asked the court for a date on which his client could sentenced via video link from the prison.

Cubby is charged with attempted stealing, entering a dwelling with intent, trespassing, entering a premises with intent and two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicles arising from alleged incidents on February 6 and 7.

Police claim the four young men went for a joy ride in a white LandCruiser stolen from a Toowoomba residence on February 7.

That vehicle was eventually spotted by police on February 8 and was stopped after police using tyre spikes brought the car to a halt on a Millmerran street.

Eliah John Bligh, 18, pleaded guilty before the same court on February 10 and was placed on nine months probation with no convictions recorded.

Acting magistrate Kay Ryan adjourned Cubby’s case for sentence in the same court on April 26 and remanded him in custody to appear via video link from the prison that day.

The other two young men charged in relation to the matters – Kyaharlem Hazard, 19, and Kamahl Jeremy Scott Duncan, 21, are yet to be dealt with by the court.
