Jayden Usher disappearance: Police confirm death of Kingaroy man as ‘non-suspicious’

Police have tragically confirmed the identity of the body they found in a Kingaroy yard last week, days after they launched a missing person appeal.

Darling Downs Police have formally identified the body of 28-year-old Kingaroy man Jayden Usher, and confirmed his death was not suspicious.

Officers released a plea to the public to help find Mr Usher last Friday, after he was last seen by family at a Booth Street home at 3am on Thursday, October 5.

He left the property on foot, heading west towards Roberta Street.

Police escalated their search on October 10, calling the Dog Squad and SES volunteers to search nearby grassland, paddock, and parks.

A body believed to be Jayden was found lying in the yard of a River Rd property by a detective the following day.

On Tuesday, detectives tragically confirmed his identity.

Police are treating the man’s death as non-suspicious and will now prepare a report for the coroner.

Jayden’s disappearance has sent shockwaves through the tight-knit farming community.

“To think you’re gone makes me sick in the stomach bro,” Matt Klein said.

“To laughs we had at work, to being able to vent to each other when needed, a great work mate and an awesome friend.

“Rest in peace mate until we meet again.”

“This kid was a main character in our lives growing up,” Renae Cooper said.

“So many years and memories of absolute mischief.

“You have been in my thoughts since you were reported missing and gutted to hear the potential outcome this morning.”
