Bull rider hospitalised after fall at Pittsworth show

A bull rider has been hurt at a country show while in an unrelated matter authorities are set to investigate the cause of a fire that put a young man in hospital.

A young man is recovering in hospital after he suffered a head injury during the Pittsworth Show Rodeo.

The Queensland Ambulance Service reports that the boy fell from a bull about 10.10pm on Friday.

He was treated at the scene and transported to the St Vincent’s Hospital in a stable condition.

The Pittsworth Show Society was contacted for comment, but declined the offer.

In unrelated matters, Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated a patient for minor injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Mary Street in Dalby about 1.44am on Saturday.

Firefighters have also returned to the scene of a house fire at Chinchilla that put a man in hospital.

Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said multiple crews were called to the Hypatia Street blaze about 7pm on Friday.

Fire crews kept the flames contained to a rear bedroom at the dwelling while paramedics treated a young man, aged in his 20s, for smoke inhalation.

He was transported to the Chinchilla Hospital in a stable condition.

In Felton, a man aged in his 30s suffered neck and head injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Felton Clifton Road at 10.29pm on Friday.

He was transported to the Toowoomba Hospital in stable condition.
