Two boys face long stints behind bars after they robbed a sleeping man at knifepoint at the weekend.

Police will allege the boys stole a Bentley Bentayga SUV, valued at more than $375,000, from a home in the Brisbane suburb of Hamilton.

The boys were observed entering the Toorak Road property shortly after 4.40pm before threatening the occupants and stealing keys.

They have then driven the vehicle to Toowoomba.

Toowoomba Detective Acting-Senior Sergeant John Cunningham said the luxury car was linked to several break and enter offences through Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

This included a home near Nugent Pinch Road on Cotswold Hills where police allege the boys kicked in the front door and stole personal items about 11.40pm.

Shortly after midnight, the owners of a home in Hamzah Drive phoned police after they saw the boys in their backyard.

Police will further allege the boys broke into a home in Kara View Court in Middle Ridge before forcing entry through the front door of a Culliford Drive home.

Sgt Cunningham said the boys were searching for valuables when they entered a bedroom, waking the occupant.

“The man yelled at them, and they ran off,” he said.

Police will allege the boys returned a short time later, armed with a knife, and pushed the man over before stealing his wallet, car keys and his Peugeot.

There were multiple calls from the public alerting police to a Bentley and Peugeot being driven erratically in Wilsonton, Newtown and Rockville.

These calls led police to an apartment complex in Whichello Street where they found the Bentley parked out of sight behind a wall.

A police dog squad tracked the boys who were arrested nearby.

They were charged with a raft of offences including robbery in company, burglary, unlawful use of a vehicle and entering a dwelling with intent.

They were held in custody overnight to face the Toowoomba Children’s Court yesterday.

The lawyer for the 16-year-old Cunnamulla boy did not make an application for bail, and as a result he was remanded in custody.

The 14-year-old South Toowoomba boy applied for bail but was rejected and will return to court on December 9.

Objecting to bail, police prosecutor Shelby Larcombe told the court police had CCTV footage of some of the alleged offences and they were awaiting fingerprint analysis.

The 14-year-old was on bail for similar offending, she said.
