A small python has been found down the pants of a woman while she was being arrested for allegedly damaging property in Melbourne’s northwest.
The 34-year-old Essendon woman had allegedly targeted a Milton Court property in Heidelberg Heights on February 23.
It was more than a week before she was found and arrested by police at Strathmore Railway Station at about 9.20pm on March 5.
The arrest took a strange turn when the woman told officers she had a snake down her pants.
“Officers searched the woman and located a small python,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.
“Her slithery co-offender was safely put into a box and collected by (the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action).”
The Essendon woman was charged with criminal damage and trespass.
She was released on bail to front Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court on April 29.
