Melbourne woman in critical condition after savage attack by three dogs

A woman is fighting for life after being attacked by three dogs, two American bull dogs and a pit bull, in a Melbourne backyard.

A woman is in critical condition after she was attacked by three dogs in a Melbourne backyard.
Police were called to the Dandenong residence shortly before 10am on Thursday morning following reports of a woman being savagely mauled by three dogs, believed to be two American bull dogs and a pit bull.

It’s understood police tried to remove the dogs from the woman using pepper spray, but were unsuccessful.

After the failed attempt to free the woman, officers were forced to fatally shoot the three dogs.

The woman was rushed to Dandenong Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

Victoria Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which remains ongoing.
