As the weather warms up and the social calendar starts getting filled, out come the iPhones as we try to capture all the moments of summer at rooftop bars, beaches and festivals.

And a new compact, user-friendly camera has just been released that will turn those everyday scenes into magazine-quality photo shoots.

The Fujifilm X-T50 is easy to use but offers professional results thanks to the long list of exclusive features, including film simulation functions that produce a sumptuous grainy-texture. The effect acts like an instant-filter, immediately giving pictures an old-school celluloid aesthetic.

There are 20 looks to choose from – all based on iconic films from the brand’s history – and 12 of them are within easy reach on a driver dial atop the camera.

As you flick between the simulations with your thumb while pointing the X-T50 at a subject, the results are instantly visible on the camera’s two-way tilt LCD touchscreen.

The mirrorless unit is a massive jump up from its predecessors, with a high-resolution 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and a five-axis in-body image stabilisation (IBIS). These upgrades, along with subject detection autofocus, make it the perfect companion for on-the-go photography.

The X-T50 lets even the most unskilled snapper feel like a pro by giving a stylish finish to shots even when the camera is used in the basic point-and-shoot mode.

And the finishing touch? The camera body itself has been designed with a nod to classic analogue cameras, making it the perfect accessory.
