Kindle Scribe

Kindle Scribe is the next generation of Kindle and is designed for reading and writing. And for the very first time — the Kindle has a “pen” (which comes in both basic and premium models) that never needs charging.

The new Kindle has a 10.2-inch, 300 pixels per inch (ppi), Paperwhite display. The front-lit, glare-free display is designed for larger fonts, images, charts, and documents.

The battery lasts for months if used for reading and weeks if used for writing, according to Amazon, so it’s a pretty handy device for taking on holidays.

It’s available with storage of 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB, starting from $549, and will be released on November 30.

Fire TV Cube and Alexa Voice Remote Pro

The Fire TV cube is Amazon’s “most powerful streaming media player yet”.

The tech giant says the third-generation Fire TV Cube is its fastest and most versatile streaming media player ever.

The device responds to voice commands to control various devices.

This upgraded cube comes with an octa-core 2.0 GHz processor that makes it two times as powerful as the Fire TV Stick 4K Max.

The Fire TV Cube includes an HDMI input port and comes with Wi-Fi 6E support.

Amazon also announced the Alexa Voice Remote Pro, a premium remote with an all-new Remote Finder — which helps people locate a misplaced remote.

The Alexa Voice Remote Pro also comes with customisable buttons.

The Fire TV Cube sells for $219 and the Alexa Voice Remote Pro $59.

Both devices are available for pre-order today.

New Echo Dot and Echo Dot with Clock

The next generation of Echo Dot and Echo Dot with Clock were also unveiled by Amazon today — the most powerful yet.

The Echo Dot is a voice-controlled smart speaker with integrated Amazon Alexa support.

Amazon says the new devices deliver clearer vocals and up to double the bass of the previous generation.

The two new spherical devices now have better sensors that enable more “contextual Alexa experiences”. You can now, for example set it to automatically turn on a smart fan when it gets too warm inside.

There’s also a new accelerometer built in to enable new tap gesture controls.

This allows you to tap the top of the device to pause and restart music.

There’s also more grunt under the hood — the Echo Dot and Echo Dot with Clock are powered by the AZ2 Neural Edge processor, allowing for faster responses to commands.

The new Echo Dot with Clock comes with an improved LED display.

The Echo Dot (5th Gen) (charcoal, white and blue) costs $79 the Echo Dot with Clock (blue and white) is $99. Both devices will be available from October 20.

Echo Show 15 and Echo Studio

Amazon is now offering Fire TV on the Echo Show 15 as a free update.

That means existing customers will be able to access some of their favourite streaming services through Fire TV, including Netflix and Prime Video.

And Amazon says it has also made significant improvements to its Echo Studio.

The latest models have spatial audio processing technology and frequency range extension.

The device is designed to mirror hi-fi stereo systems.

The new Echo Studio (white and charcoal) will retail for $329 and will be shipped from November 17.

Privacy

Amazon says its Echo devices have mechanisms to ensure privacy.

Each device has a button to turn the microphone off and you can also view and delete video recordings.

Parents can also view their child’s activities and operate parental controls.
