Until now the Australian SUV landscape has been dominated by a few familiar nameplates but it’s about to get a shake up with the arrival of a new brand.

General Motors is set to shake up the four-wheel-drive class with massive new model wearing a fresh badge.

The GMC Yukon will be sold via General Motors Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) alongside the Corvette sports car and Chevrolet Silverado pick-up early next year.

Though prices and features for the GMC Yukon are yet to be confirmed, it’s expected to cost about $160,000.

The Yukon’s interior is not just comfortable but also packed with cutting-edge technology.

The Yukon will be remanufactured to right-hand drive in Melbourne by the Walkinshaw Group and only be available in the high-end Denali variant.

It will carry the same 6.2 litre V8 engine as the Chevrolet Silverado, offering 313kW power and 624 Nm torque.

The power is complemented by a suite of advanced safety features, including the introduction of Night Vision technology, which enhances the visibility in lowlight conditions.

The Yukon’s bold exterior design is highlighted by its distinct grille patterns, animated headlamps, and 24-inch wheels.

GMC has pulled out all stops to ensure that the Yukon’s interior is not just comfortable but also packed with cutting-edge technology.

The interior design is further enhanced by the use of high-quality materials, such as open-pore wood decor and leather accents.

A downfall for the GMC Yukon will be the complex conversion to right-hand drive which is the reason for the few extra dollars on the price tag.
