The Nepalese Khukuri Football Carnival was held once again in the Garden City over the weekend with hundreds of footballers from across Australia battling it out for glory.
With a $6000 prize pool on the line for the winning team, it was Gurkha FC, who came out on top defeating the Gold Coast Nepalese Football Club in the grand final 4-3.
We are shining a light on the players who starred for their teams throughout the carnival.

Aashish Lama (Gurkha FC)
Lama was a class above throughout the tournament as he led his side to grand final glory.
He was both player of the grand final and player of the tournament after a string of stellar performances to end the competition with 18 goals.
Prayash Neupane (Gold Coast Nepalese Football Club)
Neupane was named the best goalkeeper of the carnival after his impressive efforts between the sticks, saving his defence on several occasions.
Suren and Sunil (TNFC Yellow)
Suren led by example in TNFC’s run to the quarter-finals, while Sunil was dominant in attack, scoring 13 goals, including eight in the clash against Brisbane Mahimit Mandali FC.
Amir Shrestha, Prasant Thing and Anil Maharjan - who joined from Melbourne - also impressed for the Toowoomba Nepalese Football Club.
Iskcon Gyawali and Ellord Panta (TNFC)
Gyawali and Panta both caught the eye as the under-14 duo asserted themselves as future TNFC stars for years to come.
Rabi Thing (BNAQ FC)
Thing was near unstoppable in attack, scoring 14 goals for BNAQ FC and helped his side to a fourth-place finish.
Abhishek Karki (Realway FYFC)
Despite not making the knockouts and playing just four games, Karki’s presence was felt.
The Realway attacker was a force to be reckoned with, scoring 10 of the team’s 16 goals in the group stage.
