Social media was a blur as the fight went on with many dumbfounded as to how the two men were still standing after the fourth round.

Prochazka looked to have the upper hand on the 42-year-old in the second round when he wobbled him with multiple blows.

Teixeira however showed his guile by taking the fight to the canvas and ending the round with hellacious elbows that opened a nasty cut above the right eye.

The fight continued along a similar pattern in the third and fourth rounds as Prochazka landed brutal shots, opening up several cuts on the champs face only for the old champion to take the fight back to the canvas and assert his dominance.

Teixeira looked to have the fight wrapped up after rocking his opponent in the fifth round, but his over eagerness got the better of him as he attempted a submission.

The fight then went to the canvas and an exhausted Teixeira made the mistake of giving up his back and Prochazka pounced. Locking in a rear-naked choke and drawing a tap from the Brazilian to secure the light heavyweight title.

To rub salt into the wounds for Teixeira, the judges scorecards showed he was up on two of the three cards entering the final round. Hold on for another 28 seconds and he retains his belt.

In the co-main event, fans were left incensed when challenger Taila Santos fell to champion Valentina Shevchenko.

Fans were split as the final bell rang out, with many undecided on how the scores were going to go. Nobody expected what they heard when Bruce Buffer read out the three cards.

Santos took control in the opening round on the mat and chased a rear-naked choke on the champ, only for the bell to sound.

The ground game continued in the second and third rounds as Santos had fans watching on in disbelief as to what they were witnessing.

As the championship rounds got underway however, things started to go wrong for the challenger as her right eye began to swell and close over after an inadvertent head knock in the middle of the third round.

Shevchenko took control in the fifth round as she changed up her game plan and claimed the split decision victory (48-47, 47-48, 49-46).

Fans watching on believed Santos had done enough to pull off the historic upset, but it was one judges card having Shevchenko winning 49-46 that led to outrage.

UFC fight Derek Brunson led the charge: “49-46 … damn did they send their cards in before the fight 😂😂😂 Damnnn . Good fight.”

“49-46 ?!??!?!? Whoever that was, FIRED. Now,” UFC flyweight Casey O’Neill wrote.

Radio host Reese Waters was equally incensed: “49-46? This is not a serious competition.”

Bellator fighter Corey Anderson couldn’t believe it: “What?! 49-46?! WHERE AND HOW?!”

Fans are well and truly getting their moneys worth at UFC 275.

In the third fight on the main card, in the rematch fight between Zhang Weili and Joanna Jedrzejczyk the two slugged it out with Weili claiming victory in stunning fashion.

Weili dominated the opening round after taking Jedrzejczyk to the canvas and landing multiple hammer fists. The Polish warrior got back to her feet and ended the run in solid fashion.

But as the second round got underway it was clear Weili was too dominant a force and she delivered a showstopping finish with a spinning-backfist that landed clean on the button.

The devastating blow knocked Jedrzejczyk out cold and sent her sprawling to the canvas face down as Weili celebrated.

Jedrzejczyk, in her post-fight interview, announced her retirement from the UFC in what was a hall of fame worthy career.

The knockout also puts Weili into the history books, becoming the first woman in UFC history to record a spinning backfist KO. It was the 10th in the history of the UFC, per ESPN Stats and Info.

AUSSIE FANS GET TRIPLE TREAT

Aussie fans have been treated to an absolute explosion at UFC 275 with Jake Matthews delivering a hellacious performance.

The second fight on the main card, Matthews threw bomb after bomb to knock out Andre Fialho in the second round.

As the second round got underway, Fialho backed Matthews up to the cage but Matthews simply waited for his opportunity to strike.

Leaning in and delivering a nasty left hook, the shot landed clean on the chin and wobbled Fialho. Matthews swarmed his opponent and landed multiple shots that eventually sent him crumpling to the canvas.

“Daaaaamn @JakeMatthewsUFC that was incredible … best I’ve ever seen him. Welterweights look out” Aussie UFC champ Alex Volkanovski wrote.

The night got even better for Aussie fans when Jack Della Maddalena claiming a knockout victory to get the main card underway.

Against Ramazan Emeev, Della Maddalena escaped a serious anaconda choke, got the fight back to the feet and finished Emeev with a devastating left hook to the liver which left his opponent crumpled over.

Aussie Josh Culibao emerged victorious in the final fight on the undercard against Seungwoo Choi, but one judge saw it differently.

Culibao knocked Choi to the mat in both the first and second rounds, taking control of both rounds behind his impressive boxing skills. Landing flush left and right punches to leave Choi’s right eye swelling like a balloon.

“That first round was straight savagery. This might be FOTN,” Barstool Sports’ Robbie Fox wrote.

Choi took control in the third and final round and looked to have a rear-naked choked locked in on two occasions, but the Aussie kept his composure and got to the final bell back on his feet.

Many watching on believed the fight was a clear unanimous decision victory for the Aussie, but judge Anthony Dimitriou scored it in Choi’s favour. A card the fans simply couldn’t believe.

“29-28 SeungWoo Choi?!?!?! HOW! HOW IN THE WORLD! Horrible scorecard by judge Anthony Dimitriou! One of the worst of the year!” MMA write Adam Martin wrote.

A debutant had the fans up and out of their seats early on in the undercard. Maheshate made his UFC debut in explosive style.

Just over a minute into the fight, Maheshate put his opponent to sleep with a ferocious right hand that landed right on the button.

As Steve Garcia surged forwards, sending right and left hooks flying, Meheshate simply stepped back avoiding the shots before delivering the killer blow.

Social media lost its mind and couldn’t rightly believe what they’d just seen unfold with fans excited to see what the future holds for the Chinese star.

The knockout was the first in Garcia’s 17-fight career and saw him faceplant the mat, out cold before he even hit the deck.
