Here’s who sits in the top 20 tryscorers across the state as of 30 July.

Scored twice aginst Coonabarabran and one against Warren to shoot clear at the top of the Castlereagh standings. That’s taken him to 22 tries and 182 points for the season.

Lower Mountains - Barry Nicol Shield (Penrith)

Leads an incredibly hot field in the Barry Nicol Shield in Penrith. Didn’t play against Doonside before scoring once against Western City.

JESHUA MAA-NELSON - 20

Windsor Wolves - Don Feltis Cup (Penrith)

After scoring four inemotional scenes in the lead-up to the gameagainst Riverstone, Maa-Nelson has backed it up with a double and treble against Brothers over the past fortnight.

4. SAM PRESS - 19

Uralla Tigers - Group 19

A hard-running lock from Uralla, he has rocketed five tries clear at the top of the Group 19 standings after doubles in wins over Narwan and Glen Innes. Scored another against Guyra to keep him ticking along.

LARA COSGROVE - 19

Woden Valley - Katrina Fanning Shield

The young fullback came through the junior reps ranks with the Raiders and is translating that into a dominant season. Scored a hat-trick against Yass before Woden Valley had the bye at the weekend.

JACK SMITH - 19

Forbes Magpies - Peter McDonald Premiership First Grade

His consistency has been an asset to a strong Forbes side, with the fullback posting a try in all-but one game this season. Added another try to his tally against Bathurst Panthers before a bye.

7. STEPHEN FIFITA - 18

Doonside Roos - Barry Nicol Shield (Penrith)

Scored a double against the Lower Mountains to push him up to 18 before not playing in the fixture against the Penrith Waratahs when they cracked the half century.

SIONE FIFITA - 18

Doonside Roos - Barry Nicol Shield (Penrith)

Has scored five times in his past three outings to keep him on par with Stephen and within touching distance of top spot in the Nicol Shield.

SAM YLIAS - 18

Kendall Blues - Hastings League

Has been slowed down by a forfeit and didn’t play in Kendall’s loss to Lake Cathie to keep him stranded on 18, but is still well in the running for the top spot.

10. JAYDEN HARRIS - 17

Stingrays - Group 7 Reserve Grade

Another try on the weekend from the Stingrays halfback sees him rise to 17 for the year, with a double against Nowra a fortnight ago pushing his tally up.

11. TYSON CLOOS - 16

St Georges Basin - Group 7 Regan Cup

Before last weekend he had nine tries to his name. By the end of his fixture against Jamberoo he had 16 after a mammoth SEVEN TRY haul.

AUSTIN POWER - 16

Boorowa Rovers - George Tooke Shield (Canberra)

Has posted tallies of six, five and three this season. Slowed down in recent weeks but was able to score against Binalong to move up to 16 tries.

GUY THOMPSON - 16

Darlington Pt Coleambally - Group 20 First Grade

The PDC lock forward enters this list for the first time on the back of a double against Leeton, backing up a hat-trick against West Wyalong.

MITCHELL MACDONALD - 16

Asquith Magpies - Northern Open Gold

A hat-trick on the weekend for the Magpies fullback against Forestville moves him onto this list for the first time.

RAYMOND MU - 16

Campbelltown Collegians - Macarthur First Grade

An extraordinary effort from the Campbelltown Collegians winger saw him post five tries against East Campbelltown to enter this list for the first time a few weeks ago. Added another in Collies’ 25-24 win over Oakdale.

YILARA WIDDERS - 16

Redfern All Blacks - Metro Combined Women Gold

The daughter of the great Dean has been a revelation for RAB this season, helping them sit near the top of the standings. Scored against Mounties before not hitting the scoresheet in a draw with Mascot.

ELI FELTON - 16

Dudley - Newcastle Hunter C Grade

Halfback Eli Felton has been on a scoring tear for Dudley in recent weeks, scoring seven in his last three games including four against Maitland United.

JAMAINE ANDERSON - 16

Comboyne Tigers - Hastings League

The star fullback has been in elite form as Comboyne chases a title. Came off the bye round with another try for the season against Laurieton Hotel.

SIONE TUIVAI - 16

Blacktown Workers - Barry Nicol Shield (Penrith)

Posted two against the Penrith Waratahs to continue his very strong form for Blacktown Workers as they top the Barry Nicol Shield.

ERIN GRAHAM - 16

Riverstone Razorbacks - Barry Nicol Women’s (Penrith)

Kept her recent form intact with a try against St Clair before Riverstone had the weekend off due to a forfeit.
