A number of Toowoomba and Warwick players have been named in extended state under-15 squads ahead of trials in February.

The squads were named following an extensive nomination and selection process due to the cancellation of the state championships this year.

“It’s a great result for players selected,” Toowoomba Hockey Association spokesperson Amanda Ross said.

“It gives them a goal now, something to work toward now, a reason to keep working hard.

“It’s been a tough year for the juniors with the cancellation of their seasons.

“This gives them a reason to be happy, it’s a light at the end of the tunnel.”

The squads will meet in February 2021 for a weekend of trials with two boys and girls selected to compete at the Australian Championships.
