Souths Juniors grand final day pits four rivals against each other in the quest to be crowned champions of the A-grade and reserve grade divisions.
Redfern All Blacks and Mascot Jets commence the senior grades at 11.55am in a rematch of their reserve grade clash from week one of the finals.
Then the main event takes place at 3.40pm with Coogee Randwick Wombats taking on Mascot Jets in the A-grade decider.
We take a look at the 12 players who can make a difference and change the game on Sunday:
MICHAEL MITSIAS
Coogee Randwick Wombats
Second Row
Came through the Rabbitohs pathways as a winger with the likes of Lachlan Ilias and Peter Mamouzelos, Mitsias has transitioned into the second row with Coogee over the back half of the season. Incredibly dangerous on an edge.
DANIEL MOUGIOS
Coogee Randwick Wombats
Halfback
Steering the ship at seven alongside Shaun Dowie, his running game is what could prove the difference. An Australian Oztag representative who is a genuine man of the match contender if the Wombats forwards lay the platform.
TIM BENNETT
Coogee Randwick Wombats
Second Row/Centre
A player who has been there and done it before with the Wombats and Matraville, Bennett will be an invaluable person not only in the locker room but in the week leading up to the game. Adds a touch of class from the bench.
CRUISE TWEEDIE
Alexandria Rovers
Utility
A former Panthers pathways player and part of the Rabbitohs’ NSW Cup squad this year, Tweedie has been exceptional at this level and his hat-trick in the preliminary final win over Dolphins shows he will be dangerous wherever Tommy Leal plays him.
KIERAN MUNDINE
Alexandria Rovers
Wing
Scored the try of the day last week and he’s been the runaway leading tryscorer in the competition for a reason. Has blistering pace on the left edge and is someone who doesn’t need much space to make something incredible happen.
CRAIG MCKENZIE
Alexandria Rovers
Centre
Perfectly complementing Mundine on the left side is Craig McKenzie who has been exceptional since joining the Rovers at the start of the season. A strong defender who is equally lethal with ball in hand.
JAY BELGROVE
Redfern All Blacks
Second Row
We saw him produce some magic moments in last year’s A-grade decider to claim man of the match honours. At this level you’d be crazy to think Belgrove couldn’t influence the game in a massive way.
IAN NELSON
Redfern All Blacks
Forward
Provides plenty of punch and go-forward from the bench. He’s been strong when coming on midway through the half and Redfern will need that once again against a Mascot forward pack that brings plenty.
MALACHI DOWER-ROBERTS
Redfern All Blacks
Fullback
How can you not enjoying watching him play? The pocket rocket has been electrifying off the bench throughout the finals and in open space he’s guaranteed to beat at least one defender with each touch due to his speed and evasiveness.
CORBEN DOWNES
Mascot Jets
Fullback
Leads the side from fullback and his involvement will be crucial to how the Jets go. If he’s on and chiming into the backline Mascot will be incredibly hard to beat. His defence at fullback is among the best in the competition.
TYSON MARTIN
Mascot Jets
Five-eighth
You won’t miss Martin with the blonde hair, nor will you miss it when he takes the line on. A classy five-eighth who is great at setting up his outside men. Capable of taking a game over if given the chance.
TOM PERRIN
Mascot Jets
Lock
An experienced player who has been a Mascot stalwart for a long time. A tireless lock who has backed up in A-grade multiple times this year, a player of his class in the middle adds so much in a big game.
