Simone Biles says one question ‘has to stop’ after Paris Olympics wins

The GOAT of gymnastics has pointed out a common trend that she says takes away the achivements of athletes at the top level.

US gymnastics queen Simone Biles says there is one dreaded question Olympic medallists are asked that needs to stop.

Biles is now the most decorated American gymnast at the Paris Olympics after winning gold in the vault event and has grown tired with one particular query from reporters: “what’s next?”

“You guys really gotta stop asking athletes what’s next after they win a medal at the Olympics,” the 10-time Olympic medallist wrote on X.

“Let us soak up the moment we’ve worked our whole lives for.”

A fan jokingly asked what was next is after winning her third gold medal in Paris.

“Babysitting the medal,” Biles responded.

The star athlete has been active on social media throughout the Games, and went off at critics of her NFL player husband in recent days.

“Witnessing history every time you step on the mat,” he wrote on Instagram. “Congrats baby on becoming the most decorated American gymnast in Olympic history!”

Fans slammed Jonathan Owens over the post celebrating his wife’s vault victory because he was wearing her gold medal around his neck.

TikToker Kiera Breaugh jumped into the fray, telling Owens to “take her medal off” in a viral post.

Biles had little patience for the hateful comments, scorching Breaugh in a reply to the TikTok video.

“Crazy thing is, I put my medal on every single one of my family members and took pictures. So don’t ever make assumptions,” Biles wrote in a comment.

“Like y’all are so f***ing miserable. Leave us alone.”

There are strong rumours the 27-year-old could retire after Paris – which is her third Olympic Games campaign.

Biles has won seven gold, one silver and two bronze medals across Rio, Tokyo and Paris and is widely considered the greatest gymnast of all time.

However, she has hinted at the prospect of pushing on to appear at a home Games at LA 2028.

The next Olympics is at home. So you just never know,” she said.

“But I am getting really old.”

So far in France she has gold in the vault, the team all-round final and the individual all-round final.

Biles is only the second woman to win two vault gold medals after Vera Caslavska of Czechoslovakia in 1964 and 1968.

Her medal haul at major international competitions currently stands at 40, the most by any gymnast.

She has two more chances to add to her growing medal count in Paris with the balance beam and floor exercise finals respectively.
