Action is starting to heat up in the NSWRL junior reps as the pre-season enters the home stretch.
With final squad positions on the line, the intensity is matching the weather as trials start to get underway.

TRIALS WEEK FOUR
The Illawarra Steelers hosted the Sydney Roosters in both women’s divisions at Croome Sporting Complex in Albion Park, but it was the visitors who left with the bragging rights from both fixtures.
The Roosters ran away 20-8 winners in the Lisa Fiaola Cup and 12-8 winners in Tarsha Gale Cup (no conversions in either grade).
At the same ground, we got a glimpse of some Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup action, as the Illawarra South Coast Dragons took on the Central Coast Roosters in both grades.
At Mascot Oval the Rabbitohs experienced mixed results on home soil, going down in both the Fiaola and Gale Cup trials to Canterbury, before downing Balmain in Harold Matthews and SG Ball.

Canterbury showed why it will be a leading contender for higher honours in both junior women’s divisions.
In a pair of trials at Mascot Oval against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, the Bulldogs ran out comfortable winners in the Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup contests.

TRIALS WEEK THREE
The Sydney Roosters took the narrow edge over the St George Dragons on a big trial weekend at Mascot Oval.
In the Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale Cup fixtures it was the Roosters who ran out resounding winners in both divisions, showing they are a force to be reckoned with in the female pathways.
The Harold Matthews Cup tie saw the Roosters claim a two-try victory, before the Dragons were able to turn the tables in a physical SG Ball clash to round out the day.
The final fixture saw plenty of star power on the sidelines, with Willie Talau and Jake Friend coaching the Dragons and Roosters respectively.
Balmain and Central Coast split the points in their clashes at Lidcombe Oval.
The Roosters ran out 16-12 victors in the Harold Matthews tie, with the Tigers prevailing 36-8 in the SG Ball.
A busy day at Hillier Oval saw Cronulla play host to Wests and the Tigers in four fixtures.
The Magpies won the Harold Matthews five tries to four, with the two unable to be split in SG Ball.
The Wests Tigers took the Fiaola Cup fixture three tries to one, with Cronulla maintaining its unbeaten Tarsha Gale pre-season with a six tries to none victory.
TRIALS WEEK TWO
South Sydney and Cronulla split the spoils in four games at Redfern Oval.
In the junior women’s games, the Rabbitohs claimed a five tries to four victory in the Lisa Faiola Cup, with the Sharks winning the Tarsha Gale fixture five tries to three.
The Harold Matthews saw Souths come out on top six tries to two, before Cronulla flipped the script in SG Ball to the tune of six tries to one.
Manly’s SG Ball side was able to claim a narrow victory over North Sydney at Narrabeen on Thursday evening.
TRIALS WEEK ONE
In what was a hot Saturday, friendly rivals Illawarra and St George played out four games at Centenary Field, Albion Park.
The Steelers claimed bragging rights with victories in Lisa Fiaola, Tarsha Gale and Harold Matthews Cup fixtures, while the Dragons got over the line in SG Ball.
Over two days, Penrith claimed three wins at the Parker St Fields and Blayney.
The Panthers were able to down the Bulldogs in both Harold Matthews and SG Ball, while their Tarsha Gale girls comfortably accounted for the Western Cubs in the country.
The Sydney Roosters were able to take down the North Sydney Bears in a pair of junior women’s trials, with the defending Tarsha Gale champions prevailing 10 tries to one, and claiming a Lisa Fiaola win by six tries to one.
