Sydney Roosters have extended State of Origin and international prop Lindsay Collins for a further two seasons.
The Queensland and Kangaroos mainstay will remain at the club until the end of 2028.
“I consider myself very fortunate to put on the Sydney Roosters jersey and to represent this great Club. We’ve got a great crew here and I love coming to work every day, so to know that I will be a Rooster for at least the next four years is something I’m very proud of,” said Collins.
Roosters coach Trent Robinson praised the re-signing of the hardworking prop.
“Lindsay has been in our system for a number of years now and I’ve loved watching his progression from a young forward into one of the senior voices of our side,” said Robinson.
“His work ethic and his dedication to his craft and his teammates is second to none, and I have no doubt that he will continue to make a significant impact on and off the field in the coming years.”
ROOSTERS LOCK IN JWH SUCCESSOR
The Sydney Roosters have agreed to a two-year extension with prop Terrell May as they prepare for life after Jared Waerea-Hargreaves.
May, who has been one of the Roosters best players through the opening month of the season, was off contract at the end of the year but a new deal was finally struck on Tuesday.
The news will come as a relief to Roosters fans and officials as they brace for the departure of Waerea-Hargreaves at the end of the season – the veteran enforcer will move to Super League, leaving a gaping hole in the club’s forward stocks.
There had been talk that May could look to play alongside his brothers Tyrone and Taylan next season but those plans were put on hold when Taylan struck a new deal with the Panthers.
Terrell and his manager David Rawlings, meanwhile, had focused their energies on striking an extension with the Roosters despite interest from elsewhere.
May wanted to exhaust all avenues with the Roosters before contemplating any other offers and his retention will be a huge boost for the club as they prepare to bounce back from last-start defeat against Canterbury on Friday night.
KENNY INKS EXTENSION
Penrith have re-signed premiership winner Mitch Kenny to a bumper long-term deal.
Kenny has inked a three-year contract extension with the Panthers.
Kenny made his debut with the Panthers in 2019 and has played in their past two grand final wins.
