NRL SuperCoach 2025: Dual position additions confirmed for round 1
It’s the moment SuperCoaches have been waiting for all pre-season. A host of players have been granted dual position status, effective immediately, with Luke Metcalf the big winner.

Don't miss out on the headlines from SuperCoach. Followed categories will be added to My News.
The first dual position additions of the season are here and there are some huge SuperCoach winners, the biggest being Warriors sensation Luke Metcalf.
Already in 47.2 per cent of sides - the seventh most popular player - Metcalf has earned handy halfback status on top of existing five-eighth positioning.
We’ve also included a watchlist below of players in line for positional updates in round six.
WIN DUAL POSITION
Luke Metcalf - HFB added to 5/8
Metcalf was already close to a must-have given he is now running the show at the Warriors and kicking goals, this is just a cherry on top.
Alexander Brimson - 5/8 added to CTW
Started both trails at five-eighth and starred. The positioning has been further locked in by a long-term injury to Kieran Foran (bicep).
Patrick Carrigan - FRF added to 2RF
The Queensland and Kangaroos forward is expected to switch to prop in 2025 with Kobe Hetherington to play lock, as per the final trial.
Taine Tuaupiki - CTW added to FLB
Named on the wing for round one following the injury to Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (wrist) and we’ve adjusted his positioning accordingly.
Toby Couchman - FRF added to 2RF
The young Dragon started both trials at prop and has been training there during the pre-season.
WATCHLIST
Jamie Humphreys - Currently HFB only
The plan for Humphreys initially appeared to be as a back-up hooker for Peter Mamouzelous. But he starred at halfback in the final trial when Lewis Dodd was sinbinned. Keep an eye on his split between hooker and halves going forward.
Jack Williams - Currently 2RF only
Stared at prop in the final trial but we haven’t seen enough evidence yet to give FRF status.
NO DEAL (ie: the “we got it wrong” list)
Fletcher Sharpe - Currently CTW/FLB
While Sharpe is all but certain to start at five-eighth for the Knights, DPP rules dictate that we can’t add another position as players have a maximum of two positions.
