NRL overhauls round one team announcements: Two teams days due to Las Vegas split round

The NRL has changed the way teams will be announced for round one with the traditional ‘Team List Tuesday’ to be spread over two weeks — and there are huge SuperCoach implications.

SuperCoach NRL | Team list Tuesday update

The NRL has overhauled the way teams will be announced for round one.

The season start in Las Vegas means the opening round is spread over two weekends and eight days all up.

The NRL will therefore hold two separate ‘Team List Tuesdays’ – one for the Vegas games and another a week later for the remaining sides.

Teams for the Las Vegas fixtures on March 3 will be announced at 4pm AEDT on the Tuesday prior (February 27).

Teams for the remaining fixtures, in Australia from 7-10 March, will be announced at 4pm AEDT on the Tuesday after Vegas (March 5).

Previously, NRL teams were announced all in one go on the Tuesday before the season start.

The change creates an unprecedented situation for NRL SuperCoaches.

The whole of round one will be treated as a normal round, albeit a very long one.

The four Vegas teams (Sea Eagles v Rabbitohs and Roosters v Broncos) will lock in at their respective start times on March 3.

Then users can continue to edit their teams, with unlimited trades, up until the rest of the matches are played the following weekend.

The traditional Team List Tuesday at 4pm will return from round two and remain for the rest of the season.
