Cronulla made an emphatic statement over the Wests Tigers to get their top four hopes back on track.

It saw them fire on the SuperCoach front, taking out the top 10 scores for the night in a complete whitewash.

Here are the SuperCoach Winners and Losers from Friday Night Footy.

SUPERCOACH WINNERS

1. Braydon Trindall (127) - With no Nicho Hynes it was up to Trindall to step up and he did in a massive way. Led the charge from the front, had a high involvement rate and was kicking goals for fun,

2. Ronaldo Mulitalo (133) - Three tries, big metres and line breaks galore equals the top score of the night for the Sharks winger. He was immense with his classy finishing on show.

3. Briton Nikora (99) - One point shy of cracking the century, Nikora completed his job to perfection on the edge and was rewarded with a try in the second half.

4. Jesse Ramien (84) - He was a bombed try away from adding his list to those who reached triple figures. Overcame that with a strong second half and was able to grab a meat pie of his own.

5. Kayal Iro (77) - Set the tone in the first five minutes when he took on the line to score easily. Had 67 points in the first 40 to cap a fantastic first half.

SUPERCOACH LOSERS

1. Api Koroisau (24) - Copped a harsh call when he was sent to the sin bin. Went off late in the game with injury in a forgettable night for his owners.

2. Adam Doueihi (24) - Has been good in his return from a lengthy injury but tonight wasn’t one of his better nights. The Sharks had his number from the opening stages.

3. Stefano Utoikamanu (30) - Another who was off from the opening whistle. Has all the outside talk of his contract status started to take its toll?

4. Lachlan Galvin (28) - Didn’t have much of a platform to work his magic and the young star wasn’t able to show his best.

5. Alex Lobb (16) - Just couldn’t get his way into the game at all. Really quiet night from the rookie and his score reflected that.

NO NICHO, NO WORRIES

-Martin Gabor

It was a case of no Nicho, no worries for the Sharks who overcame the loss of their star playmaker earlier in the week to end their horror run of form with a thumping win over the hapless Wests Tigers who lost inspirational skipper Api Koroisau to injury.

The 58-6 win had the Shire rocking just days after locals feared their side could slide out of the top four after Hynes was carried off training with scans revealing a serious ankle injury that will keep him sidelined for two months.

Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon said on Thursday that his side had to move on quickly, and that’s exactly what they did as they looked nothing like the side that had lost five of its previous six games.

Having already won games against Melbourne and Brisbane without Hynes, the Sharks again showed they are more than a one man team with Braydon Trindall and Daniel Atkinson combining well, with the halfback rounding out the scoring with a solo try.

Atkinson got the ball rolling when he made a clean break in the third minute, with Trindall putting Kayal Iro over on the next play as the halves had a field day against some paper thin defence.

While their attack was back to its brilliant best, there is one serious concern for the hosts with fan favourite Jesse Colquhoun helped off with what appeared to be a significant knee injury in his first game of the season.

CARDINAL SIN BIN

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for the Tigers, with Koroisau facing an extended period on the sidelines after he limped off in the second half with a calf injury, while they also lost two forwards to head knocks.

There was also sin bin drama at Shark Park, with Koroisau furious at Adam Gee after he sent him from the field in the first half, making it a staggering 14 times a Tigers player has been marched this season.

Discipline has been a major issue for the cellar dwellers, but they were hard done by on Friday with Koroisau adamant he’d done nothing wrong after Trindall made a break and the Tigers skipper was alleged to have infringed from marker as Ronaldo Mulitalo lost the ball.

Koroisau pleaded with Gee that he was square and had done nothing wrong, but the referee said he couldn’t challenge the decision which cost the Tigers six points while he was off the field.

WINGING IT

Cronulla’s back five have been so important to their regular season success over the past few years, and their wingers were again outstanding on Friday with Sione Katoa and Ronaldo Mulitalo combining for five tries.

Mulitalo scored the first hat-trick of his career, with his first of the night taking him to fourth on Cronulla’s all-time list, with the left winger racking up four line-breaks to go with three errors.

The man on the other side of the field was just as dominant, with Katoa crossing twice in the first half to take his tally to a whopping nine tries in his past five games against the Tigers.

FULL-TIME - Sharks 58-6

In further bad news for the Tigers, Api Koroisau has suffered a calf injury.

It got worse in the run to the final siren, with Jesse Ramien officially bringing up the half century four minutes from the bell.

Braydon Trindall takes his personal tally beyond 20 points after spinning through a tackle to get on the board for a try.

It caps off a horror night for the visitors as the Sharks sent out a reminder that they’re a force in this competition.

70th minute - Sharks 46-6

At this point you’d be stunned if the Sharks couldn’t raise the bat for the half century.

Briton Nikora hits a lovely line and gets past some flimsy defence to keep the score ticking over in a one-way demolition.

That just wasn’t good enough from the Tigers there.

60th minute - Sharks 40-6

Everyone loves seeing a front rower score, and Braden Hamlin-Uele scores far too easily.

He takes the ball one off the ruck and barges over some pretty ordinary defence from the Tigers.

It’s threatening to get ugly now if they keep that up.

Ronaldo Mulitalo keeps the heat on, finishing off an incredible kick return to take it 90m to the house.

The last pass was forward, but not picked up by the officials as Mulitalo completes his hat-trick.

50th minute - Sharks 28-6

Alex Seyfarth came off worse for wear after a head clash with Reuben Porter.

The friendly fire sees him come from the field for a HIA and the way he reacted, you’d be very surprised if we see him take any further part in the contest.

Soon after it’s Ronaldo Mulitalo who has his second with a diving effort in the corner after showing too much pace.

HALFTIME - Sharks 24-6

With the Tigers camped on the Sharks line, Jesse Ramien picks off a pass and runs the best part of 90m.

From the very next play Sione Katoa scoots out of dummy half with the defensive line far from set to pick up his double.

What a half from the Sharks. They’re well on the way to getting back in the winner’s column.

30th minute - Sharks 18-6

The pressure is eventually too much for the Tigers to handle.

Down to 12 and conceding repeat sets on their line, they can’t hold the Sharks out any longer.

Put it down to a lovely pass from Briton Nikora who lobs one over the top to Sione Katoa who continues his good run of scoring form.

They were so close to another, but Jesse Ramien spilt the ball with the tryline wide open to really let the Tigers off the hook.

20th minute - Sharks 12-6

A combination of poor defensive reads and a nice backline movement sees the Tigers hit back soon after the Sharks took the lead.

Solomone Faataape gets on the end of a nice shift started by Lachlan Galvin and it was quite alarming for the Sharks at how easy they were able to be busted.

Scores weren’t tied for long and we could be in for a high-scoring clash tonight.

Another deep set in Tigers territory results in points, with Kayal Iro running to the line, drawing in a defender for Ronaldo Mulitalo to step inside and score.

Incredibly the streak of Tigers players going to the sin bin continues with Api Koroisau sent for 10.

It was quite a controversial call - referee Adam Gee ruled him not square at marker on the back of a break, but the replay suggests it was a very harsh call.

10th minute - Sharks 6-0

They’ve been starting slow in recent times, but the Sharks have been shot out of a canon tonight.

They look on - and score with their second set of six after they marched upfield and were able to finish the set with an attacking play.

Kayal Iro was always going to run when he got the ball, and he powered his way to the line.

8PM: We are live and underway at Shark Park.

Can the Sharks end their losing run or will the Wests Tigers cause a boilover in the Shire?

7.30PM: If the task of trying to end a three-game skid wasn’t tough enough, the Sharks have to do it without their captain and chief playmaker Nicho Hynes.

The Blues halfback for Game 1 will miss the rest of the regular season with injury in a huge blow for Cronulla’s top four chances.

That means it’s time for Braydon Trindall (HFB/5/8 $435,600) and Daniel Atkinson (FLB/HFB $404,900) to step up to the plate.

The latter has scores of 73, 45 and 45 in his last three outings, while Trindall is averaging 47 points from his last five games.

The Sharks back rowers are popular players in SuperCoach and plenty will be hoping the halves can distribute them quality ball.

7PM: Coaches have held firm and backed their Tuesday judgement, with both the Cronulla Sharks and Wests Tigers 1-17 from their sides named earlier in the week.

Chris Vea’ila (Sharks) and Josh Feledy (Tigers) have been chosen as the respective 18th men.

No players are missing the match because of Origin duties, with Sharks star halfback Nicho Hynes going down early in the week with an injury at training.

EARLIER: The Sharks, and thousands of SuperCoaches, were dealt a major blow when Nicho Hynes was ruled out of this game due to a serious foot injury.

The Sharks because they need to keep winning to hold on to their top four spot and SuperCoaches because a home matchup against the Tigers looked cherry ripe for Hynes to bust out a monster score.

However, there is still plenty of SuperCoach relevance in this game with the following key players in action:

Api Koroisau: The Wests Tigers hookers good is very very good as he demonstrated scoring 133 in round 16 against the Raiders and 90 points against the Storm in round 18. But his bad can be pretty darn bad too as the 24 points (against the Roosters) sandwiched between those two scores attests. Which Api will we see tonight?

Briton Nikora: A popular pick heading into round 15 and the Cronulla edge runner has rewarded those that hope don with scores of 120, 79 and 92 in the past three rounds. However, much of Nikora’s value has stemmed from his excellent partnership with Nicho Hynes. One sure to suffer from Hynes’ absence.

Lachlan Galvin: The rookie is showing no signs of fatigue in his debut season. Far from a flat track bully, Galvin scored 59 against the Roosters then backed that up with a try and 63 points against the Storm. Shows no fear.

Ronaldo Mulitalo: After starting the season strong, Mulitalo’s scores have plummeted. He too will miss Hynes floating from right to left, but what owners really want to see is a lift in the workrate. In the first six rounds Mulitalo was averaging 17.8 runs per game, that has declined to 13.7 over his last six matches. Lift Ronnie lift!
