It’s official. The Canberra Raiders have won the State of Origin period.

The Green Machine have navigated the perilous seven-week period to emerge as the frontrunners as the NRL competition heads into the run to the finals.

The representative window has the ability to make or break clubs’ premiership campaigns. A time where roster depth is tested, injuries mount up and wins can be hard to come by.

Ricky Stuart’s Raiders are the only team to go unbeaten in that time, having not tasted defeat in more than 60 days.

Who has barely survived – and who has thrived – through the State of Origin period?

Penrith are the other big movers. The reigning premiers’ title defence was on life support heading into Origin, where they lost five players to representative duties.

But the Panthers’ season is well and truly alive as they climbed from last on the NRL ladder into sixth.

It can also prove to be seven weeks of hell. Cronulla were expected to capitalise on having no Origin stars and re-establish themselves as a top-four mainstay. Instead, the Sharks scored just one win to plummet down the ladder.

Wayne Bennett’s South Sydney have the dubious honour of being the only team to go winless in the past two months, which has all-but ruined their season.
