Maroons man-of-the-moment Reece Walsh is the NRL young gun putting pressure on Origin star Cameron Munster in the battle to be King of Queensland.

Walsh has been crowned No. 2 in News Corp’s power rankings of Queensland’s products in the NRL this year.

Of the 510 current top 30 NRL players at the league’s 17 clubs, there are only 106 Queenslanders flying the flag for the Sunshine State.

Despite only having one fifth of the NRL talent to choose from, Queensland is on the verge of back-to-back State of Origin series wins heading into Wednesday night’s second game of the series at Suncorp Stadium.

The rankings have been formulated purely on form this season, regardless of past achievements and a player’s reputation in the game.
