Broncos stars Reece Walsh and Ezra Mam’s eventful Bali holiday has taken another twist after Brisbane’s newest million-dollar man ended up in an Indonesian hospital.

A photo doing the rounds on social media on Saturday morning showed Walsh being tended to in the “resuscitation area” of a medical facility.

Lying face down on a bed in white underpants, Walsh appears to have a sizeable graze on his back.

This masthead understands Walsh suffered the injury after being dragged over sharp reef while surfing.

Mam is also in the photo holding a mobile phone and two pink drinks.

The Walsh injury follows revelations the Broncos duo are being investigated by the NRL following an alleged incident at a Bali nightclub last weekend.

The NRL received a complaint after an Australian man’s mobile phone was allegedly damaged.

The man is believed to have been persistently filming Walsh.

Mam has since replaced and paid for the phone, but the NRL will look into the matter upon the duo’s return to Brisbane.

Walsh and Mam’s manager, Nash Dawson, said the matter had been settled privately.

“The damaged phone was simply an accident within a heavily populated nightclub in Bali,” he said.

“A person’s phone was dropped and damaged, to which that person has asked for the player to pay for the damages and the player has already paid it.”

The incident is unlikely to attract any severe penalties from the NRL.

Walsh and Mam are a large part of Brisbane’s long-term future as the Broncos chase a new coach following the dismissal of Kevin Walters this week.

Earlier this year, Mam signed a bumper contract extension keeping him at the Broncos until 2029.

Walsh has also agreed to a new $4.4 million deal which will see him remain in Broncos colours for the same period.

Broncos captain Adam Reynolds hopes Walsh is safe and warned his teammates of the dangers of travelling overseas.

“I hadn’t seen what happened to Reece because my phone was off, I tried to get away after the crazy events (the sacking of Broncos coach Kevin Walters) of the past 24 hours,” Reynolds said.

“Hopefully he is OK. You want all your players, your mates and everyone to be safe, no matter where they are, but being in a different country, there’s that risk of you not knowing the familiarity of your surroundings.

“I think Reece is in Bali with a few friends, but Ezra is his only mate from footy over there.”
