Payne Haas is among the best props in the game, while Klese is growing into a key member of the Titans forward pack. Now a third Haas brother could soon be unleashed on the NRL.

The Broncos have signed the younger brother of NSW Origin and Kangaroos star Payne Haas.

Hans Haas, 15, has joined Brisbane’s junior academy program in his first step towards emulating his older brother’s success.

The younger Haas has signed a multi-year contract with the Broncos which will see him train in Brisbane’s development system in the hope of making it to the NRL.

Like Payne and his other brother, Klese Haas at the Gold Coast Titans, Hans plays in the forwards.

The Haas family is believed to be thrilled with Hans’ first NRL club contract.

Payne has taken Hans under his wing and trains with him regularly at Brisbane’s Red Hill base.

It has been a challenging few years for the family, with Payne taking custody of his brothers Hans and Geejay since their father Gregor was arrested in the Philippines last year on drug trafficking charges.

Their mother Joan has been behind bars since being charged following a triple fatal car crash in December, 2022.

Payne and partner Lani have been taking care of the boys for the past year along with their own children, Lalita and Luckee.

Payne, 25, recently spoke about his determination to raise his younger brothers.

“I don’t want them to see the things that I saw as a kid and be around the certain things I was around,” Haas said.

“I do get sad for my brothers. It’s been hard on them to deal with all this, but I’m just blessed that Lani is so understanding and has had my back through all of this.

“I’m lucky that I’m in a good spot now where I can actually help them, put them on the right path and give them a headstart in life.

“To be honest, that’s my main goal now.

“I love being a father and being around my family. I don’t really do much outside of footy these days.

“Some people might think it’s boring, but with what I’ve had to take on, the most important job in my life now is being a good person and mentor for them and then footy comes after that.

“Once upon a time, I wasn’t a good role model to be honest. But you grow up in life and all I care about now is raising good kids with manners and good morals who treat people well.”
