NRL Market Watch: Alex Seyfarth to stay at Tigers, Bulldogs poach Aussie Schoolboy Cody Parry

The Bulldogs have missed out on signing Wests Tigers middle forward Alex Seyfarth, but there’s better news for Phil Gould elsewhere.

Phil Gould has signed Australian Schoolboy Cody Parry.

The Tigers are set to re-sign prop Alex Seyfarth despite strong interest from the Bulldogs.

Seyfarth looked destined to join Canterbury but it is understood the off-contract 24-year-old is now on the verge of inking a new two-year deal to remain at the Tigers.

Despite not having a contract for 2024, he was not among the players who were formally farewelled by the club at their end of season presentation earlier this month. With his future in limbo, he attracted interest from the Bulldogs.

But it now seems like Seyfarth will re-commit to the Tigers where he has played 47 top grade games since making his debut in 2020.

It comes as the Tigers allow fan-favourite Alex Twal to explore the open market. Twal still has 12 months left on his deal.

GOULD POACHES EELS’ AUSSIE SCHOOLBOY PRODIGY

Bulldogs winger Blake Wilson has turned down an approach from Parramatta for next season.

The Eels are on the hunt to replenish their outside backs and identified Wilson, who made his NRL debut for Canterbury in 2023, as a possible target.

Parramatta’s pitch was on the basis of informal talks and with no official offer extended.

A player of promise for the Dogs, Wilson scored six tries in 11-games for Canterbury having joined the club in the pre-season.

Meanwhile, Eels SG Ball winger Cody Parry has been released by Parramatta to join the Bulldogs for 2024.

A promising outside back, Parry represented the Australian Schoolboys.
