An NRL star has been hung out to dry by a teammate who has revelled in his brain fade by sharing text messages to social media.

Melbourne Storm star Brandon Smith might be running out onto the park today barefoot to take on the Sydney Roosters.
Text messages, posted on social media by fellow Storm player Harry Grant, show Smith eagerly chasing some spare equipment.

The Storm flew up to Sydney for their contest with the Roosters on Friday with the text exchange starting with a simple request for spare boots, before Smith reveals the real extent of his brain fade.
Brandon Smith: “Any spare boots haha”
Harry Grant: “You forget yours hahaha”
B.S: “Yep haha. I think I did”
H.G: “You hopeless”
B.S: “Even more useless I left my bag at the airport. Chur.”
H.G: “Which airport. Melbourne?”
B.S: “Melbourne”
H.G: “Hahahaha”

The Storm currently sit second the NRL ladder, behind the Penrith Panthers, while the Roosters are currently seventh.
Both sides will welcome back their Origin stars with only Xavier Coates ruled out after picking up an injury during Game 1.
In two games between the sides last year, the Storm ran away with comfortable victories - winning 46-0 and 20-4.
The contest gets underway in Sydney at 5pm (AEST).
