NRL fans all cracked the same joke as Dolphins star Herbie Farnworth and Lily Pickles walked the red carpet at the Dally M Awards.

The comments flooded in when a snap of Dolphins centre Herbie Farnworth and longtime red carpet partner Lily Pickles was posted on social media during Wednesday night’s Dally Ms.

“Just fell to my knees at bunnings,” one wrote.

“Just seen someone fall to their knees at bunnings,” wrote a second.

“Just saw someone witness someone else fall at bunnings,” added a third.

It only picked up from there.

“Just seen an ambulance pull up to bunnings,” it continued.

“Road to Bunnings has been closed off heard some guy dusted his knees,” added another.

“Why are there cops and a crime scene set up at Bunnings?” wrote someone else. “Ambulances too.”

If you’re baffled at this point don’t feel ashamed, plenty of people in the comments were too.

“Please fill me in I obviously live under a rock,” one wrote.

“Curiosity has got the better of me here, could you fill me in?” wrote another.

“I’m lost too! Please tell us!!” added a third.

We’ll warn you now, while obviously hilarious to people of a certain demographic - the answer may well underwhelm those of an older vintage.

Why is everyone falling to their knees at Bunnings?

According to internet legend, the catch phrase is actually a variation of a comment that went viral on TikTok many years ago.

A popular creator with a very impressive moustache shocked his followers by shaving it off, prompting one to reply: “I just fell to my knees in Walmart.”

The creator pinned the reply so millions ended up seeing it - and it became a common expression used to signify that someone is attractive or express disappointment that their celebrity crush is taken, according to knowyourmeme.com.

Social media users have now altered it to fit an Australian audience - and likely rolled it out in force on the photo of Farnworth because of how easy on the eye the English-born 24-year-old is.

Who is Herbie Farnworth’s partner Lily Pickles?

What shouldn’t have been a surprise is Farnworth is off the market.

Pickles has been accompanying him to NRL awards nights for years and has been posting photos of the two on her Instagram page as far back as six years ago.

Farnworth moved to Australia after finishing school in the UK and rose through the Broncos junior system to become an out-and-out star.

He left Brisbane for the Dolphins at the end of last season and kept delivering, being named in the centres in the NRL Team of the Year for the second year in a row.

The main award was taken out by Melbourne Storm halfback Jahrome Hughes - and he was saluted with an impromptu haka in moving scenes.
