Cameron Munster may be sidelined through injury, but according to the Melbourne Storm star he isn’t out of the action.
Munster joined Billy Slater and Danika Mason on the sidelines of Channel 9’s post-game coverage after missing out on the Storm’s opening round victory over the Penrith Panthers.

The star five-eighth confirmed earlier this week that he aggravated an ongoing issue when he slipped in the shower during his team’s pre-season trip to Fiji.
“It’s pretty frustrating – I’ve had a really good pre-season and been training really well. About two or three weeks ago, I did my groin and then two or three weeks ago, I came back to training in Fiji and slipped in the shower, which is a true story.
“The physios haven’t really given me a time frame, like today I was pretty sore but yesterday I was really good.
“I’m pretty restricted, I can only use a band at the moment and can’t really get out of a jog. I can’t really put my finger on it, we did scans and everything and can’t really find out what the problem is.”
Despite the seriousness of the injury, Munster delivered an X-rated remark that left Mason in tears and left Slater absolutely speechless.
“Maybe it’s the old hips to be honest, I use them a fair bit...”
Mason through laughter attempted to throw the conversation over to Slater to follow up but the only thing the former Storm superstar could muster was: “I don’t have a question after that.”
It wasn’t the only moment of comedic gold during the post-game coverage with NRL legend Johnathan Thurston left in fits of laughter after a bird delivered an unwanted present to Brad Fittler.
Thurston couldn’t contain his emotions as the coverage crossed back to sideline set up.
Standing in the middle of host James Bracey and Fittler, Thurston lost it after a rather large poo landed flush on the forearm of Fittler.
Bracey couldn’t believe it and said “I was worried we were going to get pooped on” as Mason came to Fittler’s rescue with a tissue.
As Fittler cleaned himself up Thurston couldn’t help but laugh at what had just unfolded live on air.
The incidents played out after the Storm took care of business against the three-time defending NRL champion Penrith Panthers.
A tireless Storm defended for their lives to take down the reigning champions in a hard-fought match that ended 8-0.
The Storm’s historically impeccable defensive reputation came into question last season and it was in sharp focus over the summer after giving up 38 points to the Panthers in last year’s preliminary final.
But any questions have been answered by Craig Bellamy’s men as his perfect 22-year round one record remains intact.
The result means the last three times the Panthers have been kept scoreless, it was against the Storm — Round 13 2015, Round 22 2022 and Round 1 2024.
