If the weekend’s premiership results are anything to go by – Newtown have the makings of a dynasty on their club books.
The Tigers won six of the 18 premierships on offer during Toowoomba Hockey Association’s grand final weekend.
Past High, Red Lion and Rangeville split the rest of the honours, winning four premierships each, but Newtown’s efforts are marked by the nature of their wins.
In an almost even split Newtown won premierships at the open and masters levels as well as the juniors on Saturday.
With the region’s best male and female players lining up at Clyde Park the action was fast and intense with five finals decided by penalty shootouts.
