New Toowoomba LSKD store holds special place in CEO’s heart

Hundreds of LSKD fanatics are expected to flock to the fitness brand’s new Toowoomba store this Saturday. We reveal why the Garden City holds a special place in LSKD CEO Jason Daniel’s heart here.

Fate and a clear vision of LSKD’s future have played a leading hand in the fitness brand’s decision to open a store in Toowoomba.

LSKD CEO and founder Jason Daniel knows parts of the Garden City like the back of his hand having put his body and bike to the test at Echo Valley countless times.

“I grew up racing motocross, the brand previously used to be called LKI and I used to race in Toowoomba,” Daniel said.

“I would’ve been up there six to eight times a year racing at Echo Valley.

“I remember those cold mornings, even at lunch time it was still freezing in the Valley racing.

“It’s really cool to be opening a store in Toowoomba especially with some much history for me in racing and we want to really ingrain ourself in the local fitness community.

“It’s cool because part of our brand has been about how to localise in regional areas and not just think cities.

“Growing up in racing in regional communities I have quite a connection to regional areas and I got to see just how amazing they were.

“Being a Queensland brand, one of our goals is to really localise in the Queensland community.

“I really believe to globalise you have to localise and as we are growing globally we really wanted to be part of our local community at the same time.”

Opening in Grand Central on Saturday, the Toowoomba store will be LSKD’s 12th physical location alongside other locations in Queensland and New South Wales.

LSKD Toowoomba will share some design similarities with the recently opened Sunshine Plaza store, however it will also have a number of features unique to the Garden City.

As well as offering exclusive products, core styles, and accessories across men’s, women’s, and unisex categories the store will also include a ‘local community board’ featuring local LSKD athletes.

Exclusive Toowoomba T-shirts and hoodies, not available online, will also be available on opening day.

With huge crowd expected to turn out of the opening day festivities, Grand Central will be opening its doors early as fans of the increasingly brand streetwear inspired sports brand clamour for position ahead of the 8.30am door opening.

Store openings are traditionally massive with fans eager to take advantage of LSKD’s now famous offer.

On Saturday women will be able to exchange any brand of tights and men any brand of shorts for an LSKD pair – one swap per person and limited to the first 600 people.

All donated items will be responsibly recycled or reused through a collaboration with Upparel.

“It’s cool and very surreal to be honest to think how far we have come as brand,” Daniel said.

“It wasn’t that long ago we transitioned to LSKD in 2018 and we were really looking for our why, which has ended to where we found our mission to inspire people to be one per cent better every day it’s really special.

“It’s funny because I tried to create core values with LKI in 2015-2016 but I really didn’t understand what they meant.

“But when we created our values as a (LSKD) team through a book called Delivering Happiness in 2020 we finished them.

“It took us a while to get going but we all felt as a team we would go to work on and make decisions on it every day.

“We use it to inform our decisions and stay true to our vision as a brand and we just hope that we can help inspire people to be that one per cent better in their daily lives in all aspects.”
