What Australia’s top netballers have been up to in the off-season

Fresh off claiming the Constellation Cup, Australia’s Diamonds stars have been making the most of their time off. This what they have been up to.

The Super Netball season and Diamonds campaign are over and now it’s time for Australia’s top netballers to put up their feet.

From picture perfect getaways in islands across the world to cowgirl-themed parties and days at the races, players are making the most of “no netball November”.

Courtney Bruce, Sarah Klau – Sri Lanka

Diamonds defensive duo Courtney Bruce and Sarah Klau are holidaying together in Sri Lanka, sharing pics of each other relaxing by the beach in Ahangama, sipping drinks and taking surfing lessons.

“Off season mode: activated,” Klau wrote on her social media.

Matilda Garrett – Hong Kong

The Thunderbirds and Diamonds’ defender has been taking in the sights in Hong Kong, taking in views of the city’s skyscrapers, dining out and strolling street markets.

Kate Eddy – Sri Lanka and the Maldives

The premiership Vixen’s Instagram feed was enough to make anyone daydream about their next vacation after her post-season getaways in the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

Eddy posted pictures of herself snorkelling in vibrant blue water and taking in the sunsets in the Maldives before continuing her travels in Sri Lanka where she spotted elephants, relaxed by the beach and sipped drinks in the pool.

Tippah Dwan – New York

The former Thunderbirds premiership goaler and new Lightning training partner enjoyed a getaway in the United States with her AFL flag-winning partner Josh Dunkley last month.

Dawn posted happy snaps of the pair seeing the sights in the Big Apple where they visited her New York-based parents.

Rudi Ellis – Greece

The Vixens’ premiership defender and her AFL ruckman fiance Tim English enjoyed a picture-perfect getaway in the Greek Islands earlier in the off-season.

Ellis posted sun-drenched photos of the pair’s holiday, which she described as “heaven on earth” on her social media.

The towering couple got engaged in May this year on her family’s farm and Ellis has also been busy wedding-dress shopping, something she also shared photos of on her social media.

Off to the races

The Diamonds were sparkling at the track during the Melbourne spring racing carnival at Flemington.

After their end of year celebrations at the Liz Ellis Diamond, the netballers continued the party at the Derby the following day when they dressed up in their black and white best.

Jo Weston, Kate Moloney, Liz Watson, Kiera Austin, Hannah Mundy, Sophie Garbin, Jamie-Lee Price, Alice Teague-Neeld and Georgie Horjus were among the players to frock up.

Vixens’ defender Rudi Ellis also enjoyed the racing action trackside at the Derby and on Melbourne Cup Day.

JLP’s 30th

A week after winning the Liz Ellis Diamond, Jamie-Lee Price held an early celebration for her upcoming 30th birthday in “no netball November” with a host of her teammates on hand to join the party.

Picking a cowgirl theme, Price and her guests, who included present and former Diamonds Gretel Bueta, Liz Watson, Kate Moloney and Sophie Garbin, rocked cowboy hats and boots for the celebration.

“29 and a half. Not 30 till next year but we celebrate it in ‘no netball November’,” Price wrote on her Instagram.

“I guess we will have to do it all again next year.”

Price does not actually turn 30 until next January but decided to make the most of her November downtime when her partner, Collingwood footballer Harry Perryman is also in the off-season.
