Is a F1 night race coming to Australia?

Michael Schumacher’s family has confirmed they will take legal action against a German media outlet that ran an “exclusive” interview with the F1 legend that was entirely AI-generated.

The magazine, Die Aktuelle’s front cover featured a smiling Schumacher and promised the “first exclusive Q&A” with the seven-time F1 world champion who has been out of the public eye since he sustained a significant brain injury in a 2013 ski accident.

It only becomes apparent that the entire interview was created by AI at the end of the text.

Asked about his life since the accident, the AI replied: “My life changed completely after that.

“It was a horrible time for my wife, children and the entire family.

“I myself was injured so badly that I was in an artificial coma for months because my body couldn’t have endured it all anymore.”

The AI continued to question and answer “as Schumacher” discussing how he feels in the present day.

“Much better than years ago,” is the response.

“With the help of my team, I can even stand on my own again and even walk a few steps slowly...

“My family and children have been a blessing to me and without them I would not have been in business.

“Of course they are very sad about how everything went, but unfortunately, that’s life and I just have to endure the fact that things sometimes go badly.

“They support me and stand fast at my side”.

Schumacher’s family spokesperson confirmed to ESPN that they intended to pursue legal action over the tasteless article which has infuriated fans.

It is not the first time Die Aktuelle has caused the family grief.

Back in 2014 it featured a front cover image of Schumacher and his wife Corinna with the headline “awake”. The article was in fact nothing to do with Schumacher’s recovery but others who had woken from comas.

Since the accident in December 2013, little has been confirmed about Schumacher’s health status.

He has remained with his wife at the family home in Geneva.
