CANBERRA

Belconnen handed Eastlake its first defeat of the season with a thrilling 12.5 (77) to 10.10 (70) clash at Phillip Oval.

A five-goal third term sparked the Magpies to a nine-point lead coming into the fourth, with the Demons forced to lament inaccuracy as Belconnen continued to kick straight.

Dom Bunyan and Oliver Withers kicked two apiece in the win.

Tuggeranong put up a gallant fight, but found the task of Queanbeyan too tough as they fell 80-47.

Nicholas Jaroz kicked five of Tuggeranong’s six goals in defeat.

Ainslie cracked the 200 barrier as they kicked 31 goals in a 205-17 smashing of Gungahlin.

Mackenzie Carman, Luca Drury and Thomas Faul all booted five goals.

STANDINGS: Eastlake 36, Ainslie 28, Belconnen 24, Queanbeyan 24, Tuggeranong 8, Gungahlin 0

The lead between the top three and bottom three grew to four wins after Belconnen overcame wayward kicking to down Eastlake 8.16 (64) to 3.1 (19).

Maddie Bailey, Ella Randall and Ari Schlink all kicked two goals.

Ainslie thumped Gungahlin by 151 points, keeping the Jets scoreless in the process.

They were led by six goals to Charlotte Canavan and four to Madison Kilby.

Queanbeyan remains the top team after an 87-6 win over Tuggeranong.

Billie Hamilton’s impressive tally rose to 39 after she kicked five.

FARRER

TRYC had to come from behind to knock off Barellan 12.12 (84) to 7.7 (49).

The Two Blues led by 12 at the main break, before TRYC booted nine goals to two in the second half, with Jake Hindmarsh kicking five.

Coleambally recovered from a horror start to down North Wagga 85-42.

The Blues found themselves behind 26-1 through the first term, before proving too strong, with three goals from Dean Bennett proving key.

Temora put together an impressive second half to smash the Northern Jets 108-42.

They turned a 10-point lead at halftime into a 66-point demolition, with Charlie Kelsall kicking five and Jock Cornell four.

A seven-goal fourth quarter propelled EWK to a 104-52 win over Marrar.

Andrew Swan was the man for the Hawks with seven majors.

HUME

Osborne maintained its buffer at the top of the Hume ladder after crushing Jindera 17.14 (116) to 4.3 (27).

The Tigers opened up a 61-point margin by halftime to assert their dominance as the team to beat, with George Alexander kicking five goals.

Billabong kept its slim finals hopes alive after downing Murray 78-51 on the road, despite four goals from Magpies sharpshooter Jamie Woods.

Howlong came from 18 points down at halftime to cause a minor upset, defeating Holbrook 67-57.

Isaac Bunge had three goals for the Spiders to claim their best win of the season.

Brock/Burrum overpowered Culcairn 97-59 on the back of three majors from Jackson Carey and Will Clohesy.

Charlie Schneider kicked four goals as Lockhart defeated a wayward CDHBU 9.13 (67) to 3.16 (34).

Henty moved clear of Rand-Walbundrie-Walla with a hard-fought 79-62 win after being tied at three-quarter time.

Shannon Terlich kicked three in the victory.

HUNTER COAST

The minor premiership is within reach of Terrigal Avoca after they downed ladder leaders Newcastle City 14.6 (90) to 7.12 (54).

The Panthers got the jump on them from the start and never looked back, leading at every change with their accuracy in front of goal proving vital.

Harrison Pitt (six) and Alex Walters (five) combined for 11 goals.

Nelson Bay ran over the top of Cardiff to claim a crucial 68-44 victory.

The Hawks were left to lament kicking 5.14 for the game, with Marlins captain Billy Barton standing tall with five goals.

Kyle Robinson kicked three goals for The Entrance Bateau Bay in a 77-62 win over Maitland, while Warners Bay outclassed Killarney Vale 93-58.

STANDINGS: Newcastle City 32, Terrigal Avoca 28, Warners Bay 28, Nelson Bay 16, Cardiff 16, Killarney Vale 12, The Entrance Bateau Bay 8, Maitland 4

Newcastle City was on fire as it blitzed Terrigal Avoca 121-0, led by four goals from Kate Handley and Isabella Sullivan.

Cardiff was propelled by five goals from Charlotte Day in a huge 126-2 defeat of Singleton.

Jacqueline Green and Mia Wilson both kicked five goals as Killarney Vale downed Warners Bay 129-15.

NORTHERN RIVERINA

Hillston stormed to the top of the table with a 19.20 (134) to 5.9 (39) demolition of fellow flag contenders Lake Cargelligo.

The Tigers came into the round in top spot, but slipped to second on percentage after the Swans put on a clinic.

Sam Fensom’s four goals came in handy.

West Wyalong Girral fought hard, but was unable to climb off the bottom after falling to Ungarie 107-89.

Both sides kicked straight, with Jack Crofts and Jed Keatley scoring four in the win and Joseph Kerin nabbing five in defeat.

RIVERINA

GGGM flexed its flag muscles with a convincing 28.16 (184) to 5.5 (35) demolition of Leeton Whitton.

Jack Powell had seven goals and Jacob Olsson kicked five in the huge win.

Turvey Park created a three-win buffer between fourth and fifth after taking down Wagga 78-59.

They led by just eight coming into the fourth quarter before kicking right away, led by three goals to Will Ford and Harrison Glanvill.

Collingullie Wagga remains a win off top spot after getting the job done against MCUE to the tune of 72-35.

They played from in front after a dominant 35-1 first term, with Marty Boyer’s three goals leading the way.

Coolamon was dominant in a crushing 175-16 win over Griffith, with five goals from Joe Redfern and four apiece from Nicholas Buchanan and Aiden Macauley.

STANDINGS: GGGM 40, Collingullie Wagga 36, Coolamon 32, Turvey Park 32, Wagga 20, MCUE 16, Narrandera 8, Leeton Whitton 4, Griffith 4

SOUTH COAST

Northern Districts kept its unbeaten run alive by the skin of its teeth, just getting past Shellharbour City 10.8 (68) to 9.12 (66).

The Suns held a seven-point buffer coming into the fourth quarter, but their 1.4 compared to Norths’ 3.1 in the term proved the difference.

Ciaran Flynn had four goals in the win.

Kiama turned it on in a big way with a 138-30 demolition of the Wollongong Bulldogs.

They had seven players kick multiple goals, led by Jack Eastwood with four.

The Wollongong Lions remain in the top four after downing Bomaderry 117-26, with Ben Hyndes kicking six goals.

STANDINGS: Northern Districts 36, Figtree 32, Shellharbour City 16, Lions 16, Kiama 12, Bulldogs 4, Bomaderry 4

Figtree found enough in the tank to get past a determined Lions side 4.6 (30) to 3.6 (24).

Ashlee Maddern had two goals in the win.

Bomaderry moved into equal fourth with a 26-23 win over Kiama, with Maddison Pignolet kicking two majors.

The Bulldogs were too strong for Northern Districts with a 120-0 shutout.

Bethanie Durham, Ava Loughnan and Grace Smith all kicked three goals.

SYDNEY

UTS almost caused a major upset, but fell short to defending premiers North Shore 10.9 (69) to 9.7 (61).

The Bats kicked five of the six goals in the third quarter to lead by nine, before the Bombers surged in the fourth to snatch the win.

Max Thomas has three for North Shore while Ash Backlund kicked four in defeat.

Sydney Uni held off a stubborn East Coast side, coming out on top 81-56.

The Eagles stayed within a kick for much of the contest, before Sydney Uni kicked a few clear late.

Hugo Blacker and Tom Ryan had three goals apiece.

James Kennedy (five) and Eddie Keogh (four) starred in front of goal as South West Sydney kept pace with third spot, smashing Inner West 126-23.

Manly was far too strong Pennant Hills in a dominant 160-22 victory.

Travis Schiller had five goals and Cameron Manuel and Jesse Wadeisha both kicked four.

Big Kieran Emery kicked a bag of five goals as UNSW-ES smashed St George 126-39.

STANDINGS: Manly 44, North Shore 44, UNSW-ES 32, Sydney Uni 30, South West Sydney 28, Pennant Hills 22, UTS 16, East Coast 12, St George 8, Inner West 0

North Shore escaped past UTS in one of the games of the season, prevailing 8.4 (52) to 7.8 (50).

The Bombers trailed by 14 at the end of the first and eight at halftime, before booting four goals in the third to take a lead they wouldn’t surrender for the rest of the contest.

Matilda Eder (North Shore) and Madeleine Quinn (UTS) both kicked three goals.

Sydney Uni led at every change to claim a key win over East Coast by 42-35.

It helped to create a three-win buffer between the top three and fourth.

Four goals from Emma Haley propelled UNSW-ES to a 61-13 win over St George, while Isabella Rudolph had five for Manly as they thumped Pennant Hills by 143 points.
