With the Paris Olympics only months away, and coveted spots in the Australian Stingers and Sharks teams up for grabs, it is not just about winning an AWL crown for the nation’s top players.
Water Polo Australia chief executive officer Tim Welsford said would be a massive year for the sport.
“Our clubs share a longstanding rivalry that will see mate versus mate, state versus state, all culminating in the Australian Waterpolo League finals to be held in Sydney in April,” Welsford said.
“Throughout the tournament, some of our Ord Minnett Aussie Sharks and Aussie Stingers will also be joining their home teams, as they look to put it all on the line for their club as well as to impress Australian team selectors on the countdown to Paris.”
