Grizzlies star Matt Barnes issues knife twisting declaration to Derek Fisher

THE NBA’s most talked about scandal is far from over after the man at the centre of the feud launched another attack on his rival.

GRIZZLIES forward Matt Barnes dropped a strong hint Friday at least one Knicks player had reached out to him to show him support for his backyard barbecue beatdown of Knicks coach Derek Fisher in October.

The skirmish took place at the Los Angeles home of Barnes’ estranged wife, Gloria Govan, who allegedly was having a rendezvous with Fisher.

Fisher was attacked in Los Angeles by NBA bad boy Matt Barnes, who drove 95 miles to “beat the s**t out of him” when he found out Fisher was romancing his estranged wife,

The 6-foot-7 Barnes made a fast break from his team’s California training camp in October when he was tipped off that Fisher was making time with sultry “Basketball Wives LA” star Gloria Govan in the home Barnes once shared with her.

The love-triangle scuffle resulted in a two-game suspension for Barnes, who served it but is appealing to recoup the cash lost.

On the eve of Fisher and Barnes being face-to-face for the first time since the LA rumble when the Knicks visit Memphis on Saturday night, the Grizzlies forward, when asked about his teammates rallying around him, made a list of people who liked his revenge move.

“It’s been great — my teammates, organisation, other guys throughout the league, people from his team, people from other sports, people from the entertainment world,’’ Barnes said.

“I’ve gotten a lot of support throughout the whole situation. Unfortunately, I got suspended. That’s in the past. Now we are focused on playing against the players from the Knicks.’’

Let it go.
Let it go.

Barnes didn’t specify who from Fisher’s team had reached out. Despite being in the league 13 years with nine teams, including the Knicks, he never has been a teammate of any current Knick.

Barnes was close with Fisher when they were Lakers teammates, from 2010-2012. But after Friday’s practice, Barnes’ bitterness hadn’t ebbed.

“It doesn’t matter what we were,’’ Barnes said. “I’m not worried about what we were. We’re nothing [now].’’

Barnes, who said he’s not going to go after Fisher on the sidelines, took subtle shots saying the coach is a non-factor to the Knicks’ improvement to 20-21 from 17-65 last season.

Asked if Fisher has done a better job, Barnes said: “We’re focused on playing the Knicks. We’re not worried about who’s coaching them. Our focus is on Carmelo [Anthony] and the rookie that they got who is playing amazing [Kristaps Porzingis] and [Arron] Afflalo and Derrick Williams. They got a talented team. That’s what we’re focused on right now.

“I’m worried about the players. I’m not worried about the coaches.”

Barnes had called Fisher “a snake’’ and “snitch’’ in an Instagram post on New Year’s Eve. After he went 6-of-6 from 3-point range and had a late steal in Thursday’s win over Detroit, Barnes told the Memphis Commercial-Appeal about the showdown with Fisher’s team: “I know I’ve got to keep my mouth shut because [Fisher] will run and tell. We’re really focused on playing that team. When I’m retired, him and I will cross paths.’’

Snitches gonna snitch.
Snitches gonna snitch.

The Post reported Thursday the NBA is on alert and will make the referees and security detail aware of the history. But the league is very confident a confrontation won’t take place because Fisher is situated on the sidelines.

The Players Association is up in arms over the two-game suspension, and Barnes is trying to recoup the $65,000 in wages lost.

“I appreciated the Players Association filing an appeal on my behalf,’’ Barnes said. “I won’t hold my breath for my money to come back. [The subject] had died off. Then I got suspended three months after the fact, and it picked up. Then I knew when the game comes around, [attention] would pick up.’’

Fisher is trying not to think about Barnes, but he probably had no idea at least one of his players was amused by the incident, which forced Fisher to miss a preseason practice.

“It has no impact on me, really,’’ Fisher said. “It has nothing to do with us trying to figure out how to win the game [Saturday], so I don’t really think much about it at all. I obviously respect what [media] have to do, in terms of the question. But it’s of no consequence to me at this point. We’re trying to win games, and that’s really all that I’m thinking about as a coach. I’m not concerned with the other stuff.’’

Anthony, questionable with an ankle sprain, said it’s a non-issue.

“I don’t think our coach is even thinking about that at this point,’’ Anthony said. “I know as players we don’t bring that up around here.”

Vince Carter, Barnes’ teammate, said he doesn’t have to talk to Barnes.

“He’s been in the league 15 years,’’ Carter said. “Regardless of what we say, he’ll do what he wants to do. I think it’s over and done with.’’
