Matildas captain Sam Kerr and her partner Kristie Mewis have announced the birth of their baby boy.
Kerr announced his arrival via a post to Instagram on Thursday night, revealing the name of the newborn, Jagger Mewis-Kerr.
She shared a picture of her, Ms Mewis and Jagger.
“Our little man is here,” the caption said.
The Matildas’ official Instagram page commented: “Congratulations!” with a love heart emoji
The pair announced their pregnancy in November in a a heartwarming Instagram post.
Kerr posted a series of black and white snaps, two with the pair kissing, another with her and Mewis holding an ultrasound picture and another revealing Mewis’ swollen stomach.
“Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!” the post read.
Kerr and her partner, American professional soccer player Kristy Mewis, live in southwest London.
The 31-year-old superstar is orginally from Western Australia.
Kerr and Mewis announced their engagement in November 2023, two months after rumours initially swirled about the move.
The pair kept it quiet, playing a game with fans as they refused to confirm the news until Mewis broke the couple’s silence on November 9 in an exclusive interview with People Magazine.
And a post confirmed the couple were engaged on September 1, 2023.
Kerr has not been playing football after a devastating ACL injury sidelined her for more than a year.
The injury occured in January 2024 and she subsequently missed the second half of Chelsea’s season in England and Australia’s run at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
She is set to return later this month or early next.
