IT’S been a season for the ages!

Twenty wins, six draws and only one defeat. A record points haul, fewest goals conceded, most clean sheets and best-ever goal difference.

The names of Milos Ninkovic, Bobo, Brandon O’Neill and Filip Holosko will live on in A-League history.

Here are the pivotal moments.

Sky Blues start with a bang

After an opening 45 minutes punctuated by all-in melee, Sydney turned on the style in the second half with four goals. In front of a record crowd of 61.850 at ANZ Stadium, Filip Holosko, Bobo, Brandon O'Neill and Alex Brosque all found the back of the net. The best came from midfield star O'Neill who curled in a beautiful free kick, a result of a red card to defender Aritz Borda in the 84th minute.

What a great follow up!

As if to prove the previous week's effort was no fluke, Sydney added another four against Paul Okon's men. Holosko scored a double while Bobo and Brosque also were again on the scoresheet. It was a consummate performance.

R3 - Wellington 0 Sydney 1

Last-minute intervention

The first trip across the Tasman and Sydney were fortunate to bring home the three points. They had been outplayed for much of the match but were indebted to Milos Ninkovic's injury-time winner. If anything it showed their ability to win games even when they weren’t at their best.

R5: Sydney 2 Victory 1

Super sub sees off rivals

David Carney came off the bench to score twice and hand Sydney the opening Big Blue bout. Besart Berisha spooned a penalty into the crowd before Mitch Austin scored the first goal Sydney had conceded all season four minutes before the break. Veteran Carney chested down the first before slotting home with his left foot and swept home the winner with 12 minutes remaining.

R7 - Roar 1 Sydney 1

Super strike goes unrewarded

Two months into the season and Sydney dropped their first points. Josh Brilliante opened the scoring on 15 minutes with a right foot thunderbolt. But Brisbane hit back and Thomas Christensen equalised with a goal of equal merit. Sydney dominated but the strikers were wasteful.

Flexing their muscles

It’s Boxing Day and Sydney really looked the likely minor premiers after this. Nine days after hammering Perth by the same scoreline out west, Sydney impressed on their travels again as a brace from Brosque and goals from Filip Holosko and Ryan Grant secured the big win.

R14: Mariners 2 Sydney 3

Phew! That was a close one

A big sigh of relief from Graham Arnold after this escape Bobo scored twice as Sydney looked set for an easy stroll but Roy O'Donovan and Scott Galloway evened things up with 14 minutes left. From the resultant kick off, Sydney hit the winner through David Carney - although the veteran striker looked offside. Fabio Ferreira also missed a penalty to compound the Mariners' misfortunes.

R17: Victory 1 Sydney 2

Dominance continues

Sydney showed their resilience yet again, battling back from a goal down to win the second Big Blue. James Troisi opened the scoring for the hosts with a sweet, curling strike on 18 minutes but Sydney hit back 20 minutes later through Holosko's header. Bernie Ibini scored the winner when just off the bench on 65 minutes. Six minutes later the game was virtually up for Victory after James Donachie was sent off.

R20: WSW 1 Sydney 0

Luck runs out

Their only defeat! Brendon Santalab scored a superb goal in the 26th minute as goalkeepers Danny Vukovic and Vedran Janjetovic showed off their qualities.. Wanderers ended three years of derby heartbreak. It was a tense game and Sydney had a last-minute penalty appeal turned down.

R21 - City 1 Sydney 3

Back on the bike

Sydney got right back to their winning ways six days later in Melbourne as a Bobo brace and a classy free kick from Brandon O'Neill ensured victory. Manny Muscat was sent off just before the break and Sydney took full advantage.

R22: Sydney 1 Victory 0

Hat-trick of Big Blues

Bobo's strike just after halftime ensured a clean sweep of the contests with Victory. Berisha missed a golden chance to equalise but Sydney really should have scored more and won more resoundingly.

R24: Perth 0 Sydney 3

A-League kings!

Sydney secured the Premier's Plate in some style. The visitors were dominant and it was no surprise when they went ahead on 18 minutes when Perth debutante Lucian Goian turned the ball into his own net. O'Neill scored the second and Bobo grabbed the third.

Semi: Sydney 3 Perth 0

Technology rules

It may have been tinged with controversy but it shouldn’t detract from Sydney’s dominance. Brilliante opened the scoring with a trademark long bomb before the VAR (video assistant referee) was called into action to confirm the
